- Late fee
- $283.50
- Fee base
- $9,450
The formula
- Fee base = sale price + buy fee + other charges added to the price
- Late fee = 3% of the fee base, never below $40, never above $400
Worked example
- $1,000 car, $200 buy fee: 3% of $1,200 is $36, so the $40 minimum applies = $40.
- $9,000 car, $450 buy fee: 3% of $9,450 = $283.50.
- $20,000 car, $600 buy fee: 3% of $20,600 is $618, so the $400 cap applies = $400.

FAQ
How much is the Manheim late fee?
Manheim's late payment policy charges 3% of the sale price plus the buy fee and any other charges added to the vehicle price. The fee is never below $40 and never above $400. It applies if payment is not received by the end of business day 3 of aging.
Does Manheim publish a buyer fee table?
Not as one national table. Manheim's public terms say buyer fees, late fees, renege fees, title fees and storage fees are on the fee schedule for each auction location. That is why this calculator asks you to enter your buy fee instead of guessing one.
What about ACV and OPENLANE fees?
OPENLANE says its buy fee depends on the vehicle's purchase price, but we could not find a public dollar schedule for ACV or OPENLANE buyers, so we do not publish a calculator with invented numbers. Check the fee schedule in your account.
Does the late fee apply everywhere?
Manheim's policy page says it applies at Manheim-facilitated auctions and not at the Mississippi or Massachusetts auctions. Canadian customers for vehicles in Canada pay 2%, with a CAD$5 minimum and CAD$150 maximum, which this US calculator does not model.
