- Billable storage days
- 7
- Storage fee
- $210
- Each extra day costs
- $30
- Storage + gate
- $305
The formula
- Billable days = max(0, days until pickup - free days)
- Storage fee = billable days x daily rate
- Total = storage fee + gate fee
Worked example
- 10 days until pickup, 3 free, $30/day: 7 billable days x $30 = $210 storage, plus a $95 gate fee = $305.
- Wait 21 days instead: 18 billable days = $540 storage, $635 with the gate fee.

FAQ
How much is Copart storage per day?
Copart does not publish one flat storage rate. It varies by yard and vehicle type. Our default of $30/day after 3 free days comes from CarFlipIQ's fee data and is only a starting point. Change the rate to what your lot page or invoice shows.
How many free storage days does Copart give?
The free window depends on the yard and your membership. We default to 3 days. Enter the number on your lot page. Every day past it bills at the daily rate.
What is the Copart gate fee?
The gate fee is a flat per-vehicle charge for moving the car to the pickup area. We default to $95. It does not grow with storage time, so it is shown separately from storage in the total.
What is the Copart late payment fee?
We could not verify a Copart late-payment amount on a public Copart page, so this calculator does not guess one. Payment terms and late or relist charges are in your Copart member agreement and on your invoice.
How do I avoid Copart storage fees?
Book transport before you win. A carrier needs a few days to arrive, and every day past the free window costs the daily rate, so a 7 day delay at $30 costs $210.
