Manheim Transport: Ready Logistics, Central Dispatch and the Ready+2 Extension

How to order transport on a Manheim purchase: Ready Logistics vs Central Dispatch, rolling cost into a NextGear floor plan, and the Ready+2 extension.

Marcio AzevedoUpdated 4 min read

Quick answer. On Manheim.com you order transport from the purchases tab and pick Ready Logistics (full service) or Central Dispatch (self-managed). If NextGear Capital floor-planned the car, Ready Logistics can roll the cost into your floor plan and defer payment until the car sells. Ready+2 extends arbitration by 2 days from delivery if you order within 2 days of sale. Manheim's pages publish no transport price.

To ship a Manheim purchase, open the purchases tab on Manheim.com, click Order and pick Ready Logistics (full service) or Central Dispatch (self-managed). Manheim's pages publish no transport price, so the number comes from the quote, not from us.

That makes transport the one big line on a Manheim buy that is not on any fee schedule. The calculator below is for the other end of the deal: what the car costs you once transport, tax and holding time are in.

How do you order transport on a Manheim purchase?

Per Manheim's transportation tutorial:

  1. Go to manheim.com and open the "purchases" tab.
  2. Select the vehicle.
  3. Click Order under the listing, or "order" next to "transportation" on the vehicle page.
  4. Choose a delivery method: "Ready Logistics (full-service) or Central Dispatch (self-managed)."
  5. For Ready Logistics, confirm the order. For Central Dispatch, log in or sign up.

The page does not list ACH as a payment option for transport and gives no prices, so confirm payment details with Manheim client care.

Can you put Manheim transport on your floor plan?

For Ready Logistics, yes if the car is floor-planned through NextGear Capital. The tutorial says to switch the toggle above the order button to "yes" to roll transport costs into your floor plan, which lets you "defer payment for transportation until the vehicle is sold."

Deferral is a cash-flow tool, not a discount. The cost is still in the unit, and floor plan interest runs on it. Put it in the holding cost calculator and see our floor plan cost per day breakdown.

What is Manheim's Ready+2 extension?

Standard online arbitration is 10 calendar days from sale (see Manheim arbitration deadlines). A slow truck can eat that window, so Manheim's Ready+2 policy says it "will extend the arbitration timeline to give buyers two (2) additional days from the vehicle delivery date."

Conditions on the page:

  • Buy through a Manheim digital sale channel and select Ready Logistics as the shipping provider.
  • Order Ready Logistics, and have the vehicle ready for release, "within two (2) days of sale."
  • The vehicle must be delivered within 30 calendar days of the sale date; the policy says it is "void if the vehicle has not been delivered within thirty (30) calendar days."
  • Not eligible: units sold in-lane, OVE.com units facilitated through independent auction partners, and vehicles with a purchase price above $75,000 (the page also mentions an estimated-value test).

The two-day ordering window is the part that gets missed. If you plan to use Central Dispatch to save money, you give up Ready+2.

Who pays for transport?

You do. Manheim's terms and conditions make the buyer responsible for transportation and associated costs, and the page shows a 2021 update date, so confirm the current version. See Manheim buyer fees for the rest of the invoice.

How do you compare Ready Logistics to Central Dispatch?

Do not compare headline prices. Compare three things on the same car:

  • The quote for each method, to the same delivery address.
  • Whether you need the Ready+2 extension on that car (digital purchase, not in-lane).
  • Whether floor plan deferral matters for your cash position this month.

Write the winner and the loser next to the car's stock number. After ten cars you have a better rate card than any forum thread.

What should transport do to your max bid?

Subtract it before you bid, not after you win. Work backward from the local resale price, take out your buyer's fee, transport, tax and title, and see what is left. The max bid calculator does the arithmetic, and how taxes and fees change your max bid shows why it matters.

The free CarFlipIQ Chrome extension shows local resale, days to sell and a max bid after fees on Copart and IAAI lot pages. New accounts start with a 7-day free trial (card required, $0 today). Its manifest also lists manheim.com, so it loads on Manheim search and detail pages too. Manheim publishes no buyer fee table, so net your own rate-sheet fee out of any max bid by hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Manheim include shipping in its fees?

Manheim's pages we read publish no transport price and do not fold shipping into the buyer's fee. Transport is ordered separately at checkout or from the purchases tab, and the buyer is responsible for it under Manheim's terms and conditions.

What is the difference between Ready Logistics and Central Dispatch?

Per Manheim's transport tutorial, Ready Logistics is full-service transportation and Central Dispatch is self-managed, using carriers that compete for your business. The NextGear floor plan toggle and the Ready+2 extension are both described for Ready Logistics.

What is Ready+2?

Manheim's Ready+2 policy extends the arbitration window to 2 additional days from the vehicle delivery date when a digital purchase shipped by Ready Logistics is delayed past the standard 10-day window. You must order within 2 days of sale, the vehicle must be ready for release, and delivery must happen within 30 calendar days of the sale or the policy is void.

Can I put Manheim transport on my floor plan?

Manheim's tutorial says that if NextGear Capital floor-planned the vehicle, you can switch the toggle to yes with Ready Logistics to add transport costs to your NextGear line and defer payment until the vehicle is sold.

How we get these numbers

Market figures come from LocalIQ™, CarFlipIQ's index of asking prices on local used-car listings. We report medians rather than averages, so a few outlier listings can't drag the number, and a model only appears once it has at least 10 listings behind it. Treat the median asking price as your resale ceiling. How we get our numbers →
